The Fourth of Brazoria County

The Fourth of Brazoria County is a photo exhibit displaying historic photographs from Brazoria County’s past depicting county residents celebrating the Fourth of July.

In conjunction with the exhibit film and disposable cameras will be made available to patrons for them to record how people in modern day Brazoria County celebrate the 4th of July. While the Museum has numerous pictures from around the County recording 4th of July celebrations in the past there is a noticeable gap in the representation of activities in recent years. By giving out photographic materials the Museum hopes to create a currant record of local people celebrating our nations birthday and the American way of life as it is demonstrated in the early twenty-first century. Now more than ever it is important to develop these records for future generations.

For Details and to help record a part of history please come to the Brazoria County Historical Museum and sign out a roll of film or a disposable camera, supplies are limited. Brazoria County residents who plan to stay within the county and celebrate the 4th of July are eligible to participate in this activity.
