[1985] BIRTH: Eliza Miriam Davis was born 12 December 1852 to Joshua and
Miriam
(Parmenter) Davis in Farmer City, Illinois, according to her death
certificate
received from the State of Oklahoma.

DEATH: Eliza died 18 April 1942 in Ponca City, Kay County, Oklahoma,
and she
is buried by her husband in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Ponca City,
Oklahoma. Her
death was due to "hypertensive heart disease".

Eliza was found in the 1860 census living in the household of Isaac
and Phebe
Parmenter in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Two other Davis children, Edson and
Wilson,
are also listed. One marriage record located in DeWitt County,
Illinois, lists
Isaac Parmenter and Phebe Davis, so it follows that the children were
related,
possibly to both of the families. It is not known at this time what
happened
to the parents of the Davis children. Eliza's daughter, Minnie,
remembers her
mother talking about "Aunt Phebe Parmenter".

Eliza and Lewis Cass Headley had twelve children born to them, three
of whom
died in infancy.
