This approximate birth date is based on his age when he immigrated to
South Carolina (Reference # 5) and his age in Colonel Thompson's 3rd
SC Regiment of Rangers (Reference #6) -- 19 on 12/25/1767 and 24 on
7/14/1775, respectfully. His immigration age may have been inflated
to qualify him for a grant under the Bounty.

1. John Bell died when Joshia Bell was 5 years old and after he and
his wife had moved to East Tennessee.
2. His brother-in-law, Paul Guthrie, acting as executor of John Bell's
estate sold a parcel of land to William King on February 4, 1796

The Brigt. (Briganine) Chichester, William Reed Captain, arrived
12/25/1767 from Belfast. Aboard were John Bell (19 years old), Sarah
Bell (48), and Sarah Bell (21).
John Bell Sarah Bell and Sarah Bell received Petitions for Warrants of
Survey on the Bounty for 100 acres, each, in Granville or Craven
County (County Journal, page 6, 1/5/1868.
