[875] The Brigt. (Brigantine) Chichester, William Reed Captain, arrived
12/25/1767 from Belfast. Aboard were John Bell (19 yrs old), Sarah
Bell (48), and Sarah Bell (21).

John Bell, Sarah Bell and Sarah Bell received Petitions for Warrants
of Survey on the Bounty for 100 acres, each, in Granville or Craven
County (Council Journal, page 6, 1/5/1768

This John Bell could have been Josiah H. Bell's father.

I have been unable to determine verification of John Bell's wife's
(Josiah's grandmother's) name, but Josiah's grand father would have
been 50 years old in 1767. Therefore, this appears to be a good
match.
